AMD’s Anti-Lag+ technology is set to return “soon” according to Frank Azor, after it was previously removed due to anti-cheat concerns. The technology reduces lag in PC games and improves responsiveness, providing a competitive advantage for gamers. While Nvidia has already integrated their own lag reduction technology, Nvidia Reflex, directly into games, it is unclear how AMD plans to implement Anti-Lag+. By making it a driver-based feature, AMD can add it to more games, regardless of developer interest or resources. However, making it an implementable game feature would mean fewer games could benefit from it. Ultimately, gamers will have to wait and see what changes AMD has made to their lag reducing technology.
