Cultivo, a nature investment startup, has raised $14 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to over $20 million. The round was led by MassMutual Ventures and Octopus Energy Generation. Cultivo aims to regenerate nature through large-scale carbon removal initiatives and has a pipeline of projects exceeding 100 million hectares, equivalent to removing more than 3 gigatons of carbon dioxide. The company co-designs and monitors projects focusing on carbon capture, biodiversity enhancement, water storage, and positive social impact. Cultivo has also entered into an agreement with Octopus Energy Generation to deploy up to $40 million into natural capital projects across North America, Europe, and Australasia.
